Potentially, secondary use will become a common stage of future EV LIB, which will transform markets in need of cost-effective energy storage. LIBs can be used in the internal EMS to provide frequency regulation, while individually serving the building of EMS is not economically beneficial.
The findings of this study indicate a potential dilemma; more raw metals are depleted during the secondary use of LIBs in CBSs than in the LAB scenario.
