Tesla's new energy storage Megafactory in Lin-gang Special Area – a part of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone – went into operation on Feb 11, with the factory's first Megapack battery system rolling off the production line.

At the launching ceremony, Mike Snyder, Tesla's vice president of energy and charging, noted that Tesla's Shanghai energy storage Megafactory is scheduled to ramp up production this quarter, which will assist Tesla to expand into more markets.
